FAITH Conclave 2025 Charts India’s Tourism Future

In the ornate halls of Taj Palace, New Delhi, the FAITH Conclave 2025 unfolded as more than a summit—it became a strategic milestone. Over two days, India’s tourism, travel, and hospitality leaders converged with policymakers to articulate a shared ambition: to position Indian tourism among the top five global economies by 2030, and to build toward a $3 trillion tourism ecosystem by 2047. What emerged was not just a roadmap, but a recalibration of tourism as a national imperative.

Strategic Outcomes

  • Time-Bound Milestones: The conclave outlined clear targets—100 million foreign arrivals, 20 billion domestic visits, and 200 million jobs by 2047. These figures are no longer aspirational—they’re operational.
  • Policy Push: A unified call was made to grant tourism concurrent subject status in the Constitution, rationalize GST across segments, and recognize tourism as an export industry. These reforms are essential to unlock scale and parity.
  • Centre–State–Industry Alignment Stakeholders from the Centre joined represented state delegations to showcase operational blueprints for wellness retreats, spiritual circuits, and community-led homestays. These presentations illustrated replicable models that can be adapted and scaled across India’s diverse tourism ecosystems.

Regenerative & Cultural Threads

  • Wellness & Spiritual Circuits: Panels spotlighted India’s unique positioning in global wellness tourism, with Ayurveda, yoga, and pilgrimage routes framed as both economic and cultural assets.
  • Community Impact: Discussions emphasized the need for tourism models that empower local communities, preserve heritage, and regenerate ecosystems—moving beyond extractive tourism to inclusive experience economies.
  • Digital & Aviation Infrastructure Industry heads from IndiGo, IHCL, and leading digital travel platforms emphasized two intertwined imperatives: expanding air connectivity to emerging markets, and harnessing technology to enable seamless end-to-end journeys.

The FAITH Conclave 2025 did not merely set goals—it reframed tourism as a strategic lever for India’s development story. The challenge now lies in execution: aligning policy with practice, scaling without dilution, and ensuring that the tourism boom uplifts the many, not just the few.

As India moves towards 2047 - its centenary year after independence, tourism must be more than a sector—it must be a story. One that is inclusive, ethical, and unforgettable.
