Timeshare on Wikipedia. And guess what, AIRDA is mentioned under the 'external links' column! Wow! Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Indian real estate major - Brigade Group - to manage their Sheraton Bangalore Hotel. The hotel is expected to open in April 2009 and will be part of an mixed-use integrated township development. Sheraton Bangalore will feature approximately 250 rooms with conferencing facilities, four restaurants, a health club and spa. More details here. Travel agents looking to expand their portfolio would do well to consider timeshare, says David Clifton, managing director of Interval International, EMEA and Asia. He will particularly address SKAL club members on this issue and why he believes that the Middle East is pegged to be the next big timeshare destination. Interval, as we've informed you earlier through this newsletter, is bringing together more than 150 delegates representing the main players in the region's burgeoning timeshare and fractional ownership sector. The event? The Vacation Ownership Investment Conference (VOIC) at the Arabian Court, Royal Mirage, Dubai, on March 6, 2007. The European Commission is all for overhauling EU consumer protection rules to address Internet shopping and boost cross-border sales. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) today released a number of revisions to Policy Statement 160 Time-sharing schemes. A copy of the updated policy is available from the ASIC website at www.asic.gov.au/ps Our blog recommendation, this week: What are Condo Hotels, how they work, how they are different from timeshare.
