Marriott Int'l to more than triple hotel portfolio in India

  The Marriott International hotel brands portfolio in India will more than triple by year-end 2010, the company announced here today. Over the next 36 months, the Marriott International hotel portfolio in India will grow to encompass 21 properties; six lodging brands ranging from the luxury to the upper-moderate tier; and 5,524 rooms.All hotels will operate under long-term management contracts. Currently, the company's portfolio in India consists of six hotels, five brands and 1,534 rooms.
 
   

Wyndham Vacation Ownerships Breaks the Quarter
Million Ownership Mark

  The world's biggest vacation ownership company, the Wyndham Vacation Ownership, reported that they have broken the 250,000-ownership mark. The company offers a program based on credits that can be earned and redeemed at the Worldmark Club resorts worldwide. Worldmark, owned by Wyndham, has added an average of 14,700 owners annually to their network, which includes 60 resorts comprised of almost 5000 units throughout North America.
 
   

CASE warns public about timeshare company Aztex
International

  The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) has issued a warning against Aztex International, a company which provides timeshare leasing and resale services. CASE said Aztex promises to help consumers lease or resell their timeshare for a fee. The company gives its word to fully refund their fees, if it's unsuccessful after an 18-month contractual period. But there were at least seven cases where Aztex failed to refund customers as promised, months after their contracts ended. The seven consumers have formally filed complaints with CASE.
