Q&A: Conversations with Mehulbhai Patel of Starz Club

This time, we interview Mehulbhai Patel who is a Director of Starz Club, located in Ahmedabad. Mehul’s vision and foresight have taken Starz to new heights - the premier league as his team likes to call it. Young, passionate and with a penchant for hospitality, Mehul carries forward the family’s core business interests around real estate. Starz Club is a good example of how inspired leadership can chart new paths in enterprise and opportunity.
We talk to him about Starz Club and what makes it such a popular destination around Ahmedabad.
A: Our flag ship entity, Siddhi Developers, is a well established name in property development in Ahmedabad. Our market presence in this line gave us the kind of project development understanding that also goes into resort development. Our experience here was from the ground up and we knew how to build in value, control cost and set high standards on the project – everything a discerning member would look for, or expect in a top of the line timeshare resort.
A: To start with, we located this project on the outskirts, to give it the free open space that a city location cannot provide. Another objective in the planning process was to give the family the right setting to relax, rejuvenate and unwind. Adding another dimension to the location are the tourist locations nearby that give out-of-towners some very memorable stop-overs. These include Thor Lake / Bird Sanctuary, which is a bird watcher’s paradise and the Nal Sarovar Sanctuary, where you can actually spot flamingoes, pelican and geese. Another visitor hub is Rann of Kutch - one of the India’s largest wildlife sanctuaries.
A: We have an amazing property out here, so your stay might just be the holiday of the year. In addition to well-designed rooms and support facilities, we’ve planned several activity zones for guests – both indoors and outdoors. For nature lovers there’s a lot of greenery, with perfectly manicured lawns and creatively landscaped areas. Our F&B offerings are always a great draw, so that’s another big attraction on your list.
A: With a built up area of more than six lakh square feet, the resort offers you ambience that’s truly world class. Amenities include indoor and outdoor sports, swimming pool, play areas for kids, a state-of-the-art gym, a personal ultramodern AV theater, a discotheque with JBL effects. Other facilities include banquets, lawns, conference rooms & a spa to rejuvenate and unwind.

The choice here is enormous – right from watching a movie in your own personal theatre, to rolling up your sleeves at a sumptuous seven-course meal, in a setting that drifts on water.
