Q&A: In conversation with Raghavendra Bhakri,
CEO of Danta Estates & Resorts
March 2021
Raghavendra Bhakri is the founder and chief business catalyst of Danta Estates & Resorts. He currently operates as their CEO. Raghavendra has a degree in civil engineering and an MBA from Poona University, Pune. He initially worked in housing finance companies for 7 years and later started his own DSA for home loans. He has serviced more than 12,000 customers as a DSA and financed over Rs.1000 cr in retail loans.
In the year 2001, he started a new venture Danta Estates and Resorts. His first project was Danta Estate, a 50-acre coffee estate project near Sakleshpur. This project has been handed over to the owners’ association for maintenance. Raghavendra has also built an estate house in the middle of a coffee estate - operational as a homestay for the last 8 years.
Raghavendra’s upcoming venture is Danta Resort, located on Bhagamandala Main Road - 24km from Madikeri town. This resort has 14 rooms, a multi-cuisine restaurant, and provides other amenities that can complete a guest’s vacation experience.
Our Q&A session with him is related to Danta Resort joining us as a member of the All India Resort Development Association. We welcome him and his property to our fold, and would like to share some excerpts of the conversation we had with him for this feature interview.
Kodagu is the land of coffee and cardamom, and the birthplace of the legendary River Cauvery - at the foothills of Brahmagiri Hills. With pure mountain air and a hilly nature-scape, Kodagu is often referred to as the Scotland of India. (That’s more than one reason to be in Kodagu - here’s more.)
Our boutique coffee estate resort is located in Madikeri – a picturesque city and the capital of Kodagu. The sound of birds chirping and a river flowing close to the resort sets up a perfect holiday setting for our guests. You get the feeling of walking on a cloud when you stay here.
Danta Resort is an ideal destination for couples and families seeking a private holiday, where nature is at its best. Ours is a vacation home that provides the comfort and space to relax and unwind – while we anticipate every little need that you may have in mind.
We currently have 14 spacious and tastefully-designed rooms with large balconies that open up to the scenic beauty of the place. We also have a 24-hour coffee shop, a theme restaurant serving multi-cuisine fare, and an interesting buffet spread every day. Guests can also use the room service option.
We also have a host of indoor games and outdoor activities planned for our guests.
We are happy to join hands with another AIRDA member on the exchange front. RCI is part of the Wyndham Worldwide family and a global leader in the area of holiday exchange.
At our resort in Madikeri, we work towards offering travellers a vacation home that’s synonymous with all their needs. We see the same commitment in RCI as they reverberate similar brand values and thus are extremely thrilled to join hands with them. With this association, we look forward to offering members holiday homes with unparalleled amenities and ensure they have a memorable vacation.
Commenting on the partnership, Rishi Verma, Head of Indian Subcontinent – RCI India says, “Home-away-from-home has been the new trend amongst travellers in these current times. We have also identified a significant rise in the homestays and cottages where travellers prefer properties that provide an unconventional lifestyle while still feeling at home. Keeping up with these trends, we have strategically partnered with Danta Estate, Madikeri to help our members create memories.”
What we are primarily offering is a cost-effective timeshare membership that will entitle you to 7 nights of free accommodation over10 years. What's more, our RCI affiliation gives you access to more than 200 resorts in India and over 4000 resorts around the world.
