Six timeshare users give their views on timeshare, and how things add up.
This month we continue our dialogues with timeshare users, to know more about what they find interesting and beneficial about timeshare holidays. While the timeshare concept is gaining in awareness, many potential customers and holiday seekers are not aware of long-term benefits. The true value on return comes year after year for a long, long time.
One of the things we aim to do via this website and our social media activity is explain and illustrate the benefits of choosing a timeshare plan with a member resort on the AIRDA network. And as you will see, there are definite advantages in dealing with a company in the organized sector.
Here are six timeshare users talking about what they find useful or interesting with a timeshare membership – something you will experience within the AIRDA network of members.
Timeshare resorts these days compete favorably when you compare with star hotels - especially when you look at the total package. These days, at timeshare resorts, you will see spacious, well-planned rooms, great F&B plans and engaging indoor and outdoor activities, managed by trained staff that can anticipate your every need. All this, backed by customer support and service of very high standards.
What I personally like about timeshare is the fact that you are entitled to a holiday every year for a good 25 years. That long term plan gives you a wonderful feeling. What I also find interesting is the fact that you can vacation at your home resort, or another resort within the resort promoter’s extended network. What’s more, through an exchange company you can extend your horizon, with a growing choice of thousands of top quality resorts within India, and across the globe.
From what I have seen, timeshare offers an unique mix of holiday experiences. Right from beach-front locations in Goa, to the tranquil backwaters in Kerala. You really do have a wide choice of resort locations to help you match what the family is looking forward to in terms of a holiday experience. So pack your bags keeping a whole lot of things in mind - jungle safaris, hilly terrain treks, river rafting, or a quiet trip to the tea gardens near your resort. A lot is possible around a timeshare vacation.
Over the years, resorts gone the extra mile to understand the customer better in terms of likes, preferences and pain points. Personally I like the flexibility they have gradually introduced, where customers can break their annual week segments into smaller and convenient two, three, or four day formats. This is something that can make a big difference to someone like me, and it’s nice to know that you have not used up your annual “quota” in one stretch.
I am typically a family person, and really look forward to vacations that can bring family, or close friends together for one whole week of catching up and renewing ties. This also gives the children opportunities to connect with family members of their age, in an environment that is planned around a leisurely holiday setting. I also think today’s timeshare formats are an interesting way to ensure that young professionals take time off from busy schedules for that well deserved break.
If you’re in the teaching profession (like me), or a student, you automatically get that annual vacation every year. Most other professions do not have this luxury as I like to call it. It’s nice to take time off from college and do the things that you have book-marked in your diary. On the other hand, my husband needs to take many things into account before he marks vacation time on his calendar, though he is entitled to annual leave. Don’t ask me how we manage to do this, but we manage our getaway around the time we have planned our timeshare week. Though this can be a tight-rope act in terms balancing situations, where there is a will, there is a way.
The All India Resort Development Association is a self-regulated, independent advisory dedicated to the timeshare and vacation ownership industry. AIRDA’s primary members are resort owners, who benefit from AIRDA’s constructive sharing of ideas and strategies on the running and promotion of timeshare. All members are governed by a common Code of Conduct - AIRDA works closely with member resorts to cut a clean image in the industry and offer fair value to end customers.
AIRDA also represents the industry within government circles on policy issues that could have a bearing on timeshare and vacation ownership in the country.
