Kamat Hotels India Ltd. is a major player in the hospitality business. Mr. Vithal. V. Kamat is the Chairman & Managing Director of the company. Mr. Vikram Vithal Kamat is the executive director. The main object of the company is to carry on business in India or abroad of Hotel Management Consultancy and of rendering professional services including conceptualization, promotion, establishment, conduct, registration, management and continuance of hotels, clubs, resorts, time-share schemes and other undertakings in the Hospitality Industry.
The Board of the company was broad based in April 1997 with the induction of Mr. Krishna V. Kamat and Mr. Ramesh N. Shanbhag.
The company provides consultancy in hospitality industry including preparation of feasibility studies, conceptualization of hotel projects and implementation of same, preparation and implementation of marketing program, recruitment of staff etc.

Among the focused upgraded services in the hotel are the poolside restaurants and the new coffee shop. - Lotus Resort, Goa – Resort ID – 5743 – currently has a member base of 600. The resort got affiliated to RCI in the year 2001.

With over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business, he is a director and consultant on various companies of the kamats chain. He had spearheaded many a kamat entity and is a well know social figure in the city of Mumbai, which is the commercial capital of India.
An hotelier by birth and an engineer by profession, he has varied interest and is also the president of the All India Karate Association.

Young and dynamic Vikram Kamat is actively involved in overseeing the launch of VITS, the luxury business hotels’ chain recently started by his family-owned company, Kamat Hotels. The first showcase property of VITS was launched in Mumbai on November 23, 2007 and is running successfully. As a director, Vikram is part of the team responsible for planning and role out of 20 standalone VITS properties over the next few years.
The hospitality business runs in Vikram’s veins, for the Kamat family has been running restaurants and hotels across India for two decades. He has imbided the nuances of the business by watching his grandfather, the visionary founder of Kamat Hotels and his father Mr. Vithal Venkatesh Kamat as they grew the company from a single restaurant to more than 30 restaurant-hotels over a span of a mere ten years. He has also gained the know-how to build and run restaurants and small hotel operations.
After schooling in the Cathedral and John Cannon High School, Mumbai, Vikram graduated with honors in B.Sc. from the premier catering institute in India, the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Dadar. In the year 2003 he was the All India National Council Topper in H & HA. His Internship at the Oberoi and Hilton Towers in Mumbai helped him gain valuable experience in aspects such as global standards in quality and efficiency, hotel operations, customer relations, managing crisis situations, etc. He joined Kamat Hotels in May 2006.
Vikram Kamat is talented and has won many accolades in swimming, inter-collegiate debates, drama, elocution, football and chess. He was awarded Mr. Malhar (2004) in St. Xavier’s College. He has won awards for stand-up comedy in the same college. His fluency in different Indian languages has been useful in developing relationships with employees and business associates.
